Tuesday evening, for one night only, The X-Files turned into The X-Factor live on stage. But alien forces weren’t involved.
it all went down at The Cutting Room in New York City. Fox Mulder himself, David Duchovny, actually performed a full concert for a small crowd at the club. The highlight of the show was his extra special encore duet with his on-screen X-Files partner in crime Gillian Anderson.
Duchovny and Anderson joined forces to perform a duet of Neil Young’s “Helpless,” which involved Mulder performing the lead vocals, and Scully harmonizing along with him. At the end of the performance, Duchovny gave Anderson a sweet kiss on the lips. Aww.
So why the concert you ask? It turns out that the 54-year-old Duchovny released his very first album called Hell Or Highwater yesterday. Who knew Mulder was a musician?
The album is inspired by ’60s and ’70s classic rock, and features Duchovny busting out some rusty, gravelly vocal styling.
Check out one of Duchovny’s tunes called “Another Year” from Hell or Highwater below.
