Taiwanese interior designer Lure Hsu (above right) made headlines with her unbelievably youthful appearance this summer, but the 41-year-old (let that sink in, we’ll wait) is in good company. Hsu’s mother and two sisters also sport age-defying looks, earning them the nickname “the family of frozen ages” from Taiwanese media.
And that title is well earned. This is a photo of sister Sharon, 35, their mother, 63 (!) and Lure, 41.
So, what’s their secret? Well, that’s almost the biggest surprise (we said almost!): water.
Both Lure and Fayfay (below: 40 and a mother of two — #nbd) extolled the benefits of staying hydrated. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Fayfay said she drinks “350ml to 500ml” of lukewarm water every morning, while Lure told Taiwan’s Friday magazine that “once your skin has enough water, you don’t even need to worry about aging and wrinkles.”
Their sister, actress Sharon Hsu, also told Elle Taiwan that protecting her skin from the sun was the most important skincare secret she learned from Lure.
“Everything is simply moisturizing well and not overexposing yourself to sun,” Lure told Friday.
Lure also recommended trading sugary drinks for a cup of black coffee every morning, and swapping greasy food for plenty of fruits and vegetables alongside regular exercise.
Whether the Hsu family drinks all that water from the Holy Grail remains to be seen. #justsaying
