The famous music producer and always positive celebrity has just been named as the new ambassador for the weight loss brand’s Freestyle system. DJ Khaled made the announcement this week on his social media pages, which boast huge numbers, including 3.4 million Facebook fans, 3.92 million Twitter followers and almost 9 million Instagram followers.
Posting a video on his Facebook page, Khaled revealed why he wanted to get involved with the Freestyle program, with his young son Asahd as his main inspiration. In the five-minute video, Khaled’s professional chef breaks down his three meals for the day and explains how the points are allocated. While most of us don’t have the resources to hire an in-house chef to prepare our dishes, Khaled reiterates that the program is easy for anyone to follow thanks to the Weight Watchers app.
Although Weight Watchers Freestyle program doesn’t dictate how often or for how long participants should be physically active, the video also includes Khaled swimming laps and working out on an elliptical machine, as well as running around after his toddler. Plus, there are a ton of positive messages from the musical mogul.
The Grammy-nominated music producer, who has worked with everyone from Drake and Justin Bieber, to Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, also shared a video of a flight attendant who told him that she lost 12 pounds on the program with little effort.

With this week’s announcement, Khaled even received an official welcome from Weight Watcher’s most famous brand ambassador, Oprah Winfrey.

Partnering with DJ Khaled is a brilliant move on Weight Watchers end, with the producer bringing with him a young, male audience that may not have felt the program was a fit for them in the past. Maybe Khaled will even name some special Weight Watchers Freestyle dishes after his own songs to target his younger demographic even further. We’re thinking “Wild Wild Salmon,” “I’m The Bun-less Hamburger,” “No New Friends With Carbs,” or “All I Do Is Win (At Saving Points).”
