After explaining away that he doesn't always drive the car in
Carpool Karaoke after a public outcry, James Corden and his SUV of sin hit the road again, desperate to get to work with a little music (whether he was actually driving the car or not). This time, the lucky singer was Meghan Trainor (before they were joined by her ultimate idol and things got euphoric).Now, putting aside some expectations like: A) that the car would be driven by James (after he
cleared the air that he's not always legit driving the car during the segment); and B) that the next Carpool guest would
be the Biebs himself, Meghan's Karaoke was totally adorable.Meghan sat in that passenger seat and sang with a harmonizing James to tunes like the sweet “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” and told the amazing story of how she met her husband Daryl Sabara (who was a child star in the movie
Spy Kids). Turns out, she was set up on a modern blind date by actress Chloë Grace Moretz and the matched-up duo hit it off while bowling. Afterward, they doubled up with Chloë and her
then-beau Brooklyn Beckham for karaoke (which is the perfect story to tell during
Carpool Karaoke).“We went to karaoke and he sang ‘Your Song’ by Elton John in my face to me. I have never met anyone like him, and I was like, ‘I’m going to marry you.’” Meghan said—how adorbs is that? She went on to say that she had to shoo her security guard away just so she could plant a smooch on Sabara.
“And what were Brooklyn Beckham and Chloë Grace Moretz doing at this point?” James asked.“I swear to God they were singing Spice Girls,” she laughed. That is a serious kind of love for the moustachioed man of mental health. Lo and behold, as James is trying to distract her, who does Meghan see approaching the car from the side mirror? You guessed it.None other than Dr. Phil McGraw pops the car door open to slide into the backseat, and Meghan nearly loses her dang mind. Screaming and thrashing about her seat, she grabs his hands and bellows, “I’m going to throw up! I’m so excited. Your teeth look so good!”Cut to the three of them riding around like the best of friends and Dr. Phil singing along to “All About That Bass.” Welp, we thought we had seen it all, but apparently not. Congrats to Meghan for having yet another dream come true.Watch
