If you are a human who lives on this planet and owns a TV or computer, you’ve probably heard of a little multi-billion dollar film called Avatar. In case you live under a rock (or just haven’t seen the movie) the film takes place primarily on the alien moon of Pandora where the native Na’vi live in great harmony with nature until humans mess everything up (classic). It’s a great commentary on human kind’s impact on the environment and our interactions with different cultures but that’s not the point here. The point is: you can now go to Pandora.

Pandora the World of Avatar has been under construction at Walt Disney World in Florida for over four years now and it’s finally ready for us. Don’t worry about trying to contain your childlike excitement, we’re right there with you.

Look at the detail in this place. If we know anything about Disney, it’s that they never do anything mediocre (well, except for their direct-to-video releases, but whatever). They designed this section of Animal Kingdom to feel as though you are entering the world of Pandora. This isn’t a theme park, people, this is Pandora on Earth.

Not only does the whole area look like we just stepped into the movie, Pandora also includes two attractions to give you the full experience. The Na’vi River Journey is a family friendly tour of the bio-luminescent rain forest in search of the Shaman of Songs. We’re getting strong Jungle Cruise vibes.

If you’re looking for a little more excitement though (and a banshee’s-eye view of the whole world), your ride is The Flight of Passage. This is all the flying adventure fun of Soarin’ with the drama and danger of Everest. Disney’s really outdone themselves this time. We’re setting up our Fast Passes right now.

It looks like Disney and James Cameron are a match made in heaven. You could spend days at the park and never be able to appreciate all the little details of this section. But isn’t that just the Disney way?

Looks like we know our next family vacation destination. Sign us up!
