Zahara Jolie-Pitt may only be 14 but she’s certainly passionate. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s eldest daughter likes jewellery so much she’s created her own collection, and now she’s ready to share her talents with the world.
Zahara actually debuted some of the pieces on September 30 when she attended the world premiere of her mother’s latest movie, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, in Los Angeles. While the main draw there was Angie attending with five of her six kids (Maddox couldn’t make it as he just started university in South Korea), you may have noticed Z with a little extra bling.
People reports she was sporting three yellow emerald-cut pieces: three-tiered earrings, a bracelet and a matching ring. According to People, the Zahara Collection will be available at select Saks Fifth Avenue locations and other exclusive retail partners across America and Australia starting in November. The collection will also feature white and pink quartz jewels and pink sapphire pieces. But the best part? “All proceeds from the Collection will benefit the Los Angeles-based House of Ruth Shelters, which provided transitional housing for battered women and children.” Amazing, right?
Zahara is collaborating with jeweller Robert Procop and if the name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s already got an in with both Jolie and Pitt. Robert and Angelina spent years working on the collection, Style of Jolie, before it debuted in 2012. And just like Zahara’s line, 100 per cent of the profits from Angie’s collection went to her foundation, The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. “The intention was to create something beautiful but more importantly to provide children an opportunity to have an education,” Procop said at the time. “The beauty of these creations is matched by the beauty of spirit behind Angelina’s most heartfelt mission—to empower children in crisis.”
Procop revealed in 2012 that Jolie asked him to create a pendant for Pitt six year prior. “She’s very clever and had this idea that it would be like an ancient tablet, and she researched it looking at old Chinese and Egyptian scripts … [it] has a love letter from him to her inscribed on it,” he told Us Weekly that year.
And if you also recall, Procop is the man responsible for designing Jolie’s 16-carat, emerald-cut diamond engagement ring.
Clearly, Zahara’s taste takes after both her parents. She also fancied that classic emerald cut for her collection, not to mention the main gemstone in Style of Jolie was citrine, a yellow type of quartz. Aw. Following in her parents’ jewellery-designing footsteps. Gotta love it.
