As another year (and decade) comes to a close, end-of-the-year awards are in full swing—and Zendaya just received quite an impressive honour. On Thursday, the Euphoria actress accepted GQ Australia's Woman of the Year award, at just 23 years old.Looking as beautiful as ever in a cropped white suit, Zendaya gave an acceptance speech that we’re deeming absolute gold-star advice for everyone to take into 2020.From starring in billion-dollar box office films like Spider-Man: Far From Home, to using her platform to talk about activist movements like Black Lives Matter, Zendaya is always striving to do more. Because of this, the actress admits that she's always on the go, sometimes almost too focused on her goals—something that she recognizes a lot of us can relate to.
"Sometimes I work so much, it can take over my life and I forget to be present in these kinds of moments where you can look around the room and just take it in, you know. And just be happy, and just be alive for a second,” said the actress in her Woman of the Year acceptance speech.“So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to take a second to look around and think, 'Holy s---, this is happening,’” Zendaya continued. “And please, everyone, take a look around at just how beautiful everything is. And just enjoy it." Despite admitting in her speech that she's, "still trying to figure out how to become a woman [herself]," there's no denying the actress' words of advice come from loads of experience. The former Disney star has achieved MAJOR accomplishments in this past year alone. In what some fans are calling “Z019,” Zendaya has managed to land leading role in the hit TV show Euphoria, star as MJ, one of the most relatable Spider-Man heroines to date, win two E! People's Choice Awards, become the face of beauty brand Lancôme, and release multiple Tommy Hilfiger collections. Not to mention the new GQ Australia honour—clearly, the woman knows what she’s talking about.PSA: Make like Zendaya, and don't be afraid to pause once in a while to take it all in.[video_embed id='5596803664001']RELATED: Inside Zendaya's admiration for Oprah[/video_embed]
