Since the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police last week sparked civil unrest and protests around the world, scores of celebrities have been putting their money where their mouth is, donating millions of dollars to Black Lives Matter, NAACP, and to the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, among others. However, only a few have actually marched with a raised fist. Now actress Zoe Kravitz and Kanye West have added their names to the list of celebs willing to put their bodies on the front lines.Zoe Kravitz posted to Instagram a picture of the London, U.K., Black Lives Matter protests featuring a masked protestor (which is presumably her), holding up a sign that read, “Dear America, I can’t believe what you say, because I see what you do. Black lives matter.” – James Baldwin

Kanye West, who has never shied away from broadcasting or loudly announcing his political opinions, was oddly silent during the first few days of the civil unrest that has gripped the United States. However, yesterday was a busy day for ‘Ye. After donating $2 million dollars toward the college fund of George Floyd’s daughter, he showed up at the BLM protest on the streets of Chicago’s south side.

Donning a mask and a hood so as not to draw attention to himself, the ‘Jesus Walks’ rapper walked side by side with protestors calling for justice and an end to anti-black racism.

In the past, he has loudly proclaimed that former President George W. Bush “doesn’t care about black people,” before pivoting in his political leanings by donning a MAGA hat and taking meetings with President Donald Trump in the White House.
