Zooey Deschanel and Property Brother Jonathan Scott are dating

Just one week after announcing her separation from husband Jacob Pechenik, People Magazine has confirmed that Zooey Deschanel is remodeling her love life with Canadian TV star Jonathan Scott. Deschanel and the Property Brother who does all the heavy lifting have reportedly been having fun together, which we assume means regular dating plus so many kitschy DIY projects.Deschanel and Scott met while filming an episode of Carpool Karaoke along with their siblings in August, including Scott’s twin brother Drew and Deschanel’s sister and Bones star Emily Deschanel. Somewhere on a Los Angeles soundstage, James Corden is currently preparing a musical number that will focus on him taking credit for this new relationship. Hollywood Life broke the news and shared what they call ‘PDA pics’ of Deschanel and Scott, which are actually just a few snaps of the couple walking while holding hands. Definitely rated safe for HGTV viewers.

According to Hollywood Life, the couple started out as friends before taking the next step to dating. “They’ve been out a few times and seem to want to keep the romance on the quieter side. It’s pretty new still. They seem to like each other a lot and Jonathan travels a lot, but they see one another when they can,” said the insider. “They both seem pretty happy and into it so far. It’s still very, very new. She’s been separated for several months from Jacob. She’s just very private. It’s still very new and she wasn’t really looking to date, but she and Jonathan hit it off unexpectedly.”Deschanel announced her split from Pechenik on September 6, with the pair releasing a joint statement to People. “After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners. We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”Deschanel and Pechenik were married for four years and share two children, including their 4-year-old daughter Elsie Otter and 2-year-old son Charlie Wolf. The also run a company together called Lettuce Grow, a subscription service that helps people grow their own fruits and vegetables. Pechenik, a producer who previously worked on Deschanel’s 2015 film Rock the Kasbah, was quoted by Hollywood Life after news of Deschanel and Scott’s relationship broke. Thankfully, it looks like things are remaining friendly between the exes. “Everything is amicable and we have two beautiful children together,” said Pechenik. “We’ve been raising them and we’re going to continue to raise them, and take great care of get them… I’m happy.”Deschanel was previously married to Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service frontman Ben Gibbard from 2009 to 2012. As for Scott, he was married to Kelsy Ully from 2007 to 2010 and dated Jacinta Kuznetsov until 2018.
