In the ongoing quest to take back their own narrative, it appears as though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are working on their own biography. This is according to The Daily Mail, a website that falls under the Associated Newspapers, a company the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently suing. So, we’ll take the news with a grain of salt.According to The Daily Mail, Harry and Megan are working with two journalists to write the upcoming biography Thoroughly Modern Royals: The Real World Of Harry And Meghan. It’s a lengthy title but stays on brand for anything related to the monarchy. There’s not a lot of Mr. and Mrs. addresses being thrown around Buckingham palace. The Mail on Sunday, a sister publication to The Daily Mail, is reporting that the Duke and Duchess provided interviews to their two selected journalists before leaving the U.K. in March. One of those journalists was Harper’s Bazaar’s Royal Editor-At-Large Omid Scobie, who has been following the couple for the past two and a half years. Scobie was one of the few journalists in attendance during Markle’s final charitable event at Buckingham Palace as a full-time working member of the royal family in March. Scobie was also selected as one of the only journalists to receive details of Meghan and Harry’s phone call to Queen Elizabeth when the couple wished the reigning monarch a happy 94th birthday last week.[video_embed id='1943344']RELATED: Queen Elizabeth celebrates her 94th birthday[/video_embed]The second journalist who is reportedly helping to pen the new biography is Carolyn Durand. The former ABC producer has been covering the royal family for 15 years and currently writes about the monarchy for Elle magazine. The book is expected to provide details on the early days of Meghan and Harry’s private courtship. The famous couple were able to enjoy several months dating in secret and meeting at Markle’s rental home in Toronto, where she spent seven years filming the legal drama Suits. The biography was initially expected to arrive in June but has been delayed as a result of the ongoing global pandemic. Thoroughly Modern Royals is now expected to be released on August 11 and the 320-page biography will likely hit the bestsellers list as a result of the private couple’s involvement.Harry and Meghan have been helping to usher in a more modern era of the royal family. Engaging with their followers on social media and giving unprecedented honest glimpses into their life in the spotlight, including refreshingly candid comments made during their 2019 ITV documentary, the Duke and Duchess have been making history through their efforts to carve out their own path away from the restraints of the monarchy. After announcing the decision to step down as working members of the royal family in January, Harry and Megan have now relocated to Markle’s hometown of Los Angeles with their young son Archie. Earlier this month, the couple announced their newly named charitable organization Archewell, which they will work under in an effort to continue their philanthropic endeavours. Most recently, the couple were spotted handing out meals to local California residents.Harry and Megan are currently engaged in a legal battle with the Associated Newspapers, who the couple are accusing of printing misleading and damaging private correspondence between Markle and her estranged father, Thomas Markle.
