We may be only a few weeks away from the return of This Is Us but fans of the the show have already been treated to plenty of teasers on the show's social media pages, with new videos, photos and quotes, gearing us up for what's to come on the fourth season. Thanks to a new trailer, we were able to see not only the Pearsons but also several extended family members. We're already hooked."It's so strange, isn't it?" Rebecca (Mandy Moore) asks Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) in the video. "How just like that, a complete stranger can become such a big part of your story." And just like that, the first trailer for season 4 of the beloved show took everything we've known until now and flipped it by introducing all unknown characters played by some familiar faces who will affect the Big Three and their parents in all kinds of ways. "It's actually kind of terrifying, you know?," Rebecca continues. "How a single cross with one person you've never met can change everything." It's no longer just about the Pearsons. We already knew Jennifer Morrison was joining the cast in a "major recurring role," but now we know a little bit more about her character. Sort of. It's unknown whether she's a veteran who fought with Jack, someone currently in the military, or simply someone who really digs camo. But in one brief scene, eagle-eyed Revenge fans will notice she is greeted by Nick Wechsler, and our hopes that the Once Upon a Time star would end up being Kevin's (Justin Hartley) baby mama are dashed. Now, whether Morrison reunites with her former House co-star Omar Epps remains to be seen but Epps is working at a body shop, era unknown, however based on the car he's seen standing next to, it sure seems like present day.

Call it stunt casting—we're totally here for it

When They See Us stars Asante Blackk and Marsha Stephanie Blake are also featured in the new seasson as is writer-director M. Night Shyamalan. HUH. Well, given that stunning mansion we saw in the Season 3 finale, and Kevin has lined up a big new role, it wouldn't be a stretch if the director is playing himself as the person behind the camera of Kev's movie. Not a Sixth Sense-level twist but a twist nonetheless. We also see a man with a keyboard, younger versions of the Big Three (of whom we got an adorable sneak peek in July) and you can also spot actors Bahara Golestani (Animal Kingdom), Timothy Omundson (Psych: The Movie), Julian Silva (Queen of the South) and Auden Thornton (Doubt), though, of course, details of their respective roles remain a mystery and likely will right up until the episodes where they're featured come to a TV near you.

Returning family members

But it's not all unfamiliar faces. Returning cast members include Ron Cephas Jones (RIP William!), Griffin Dunne (Jack's brother), Elizabeth Perkins (Rebecca's mother), Phylicia Rashad (Beth's mother), Tim Jo (Randall's campaign manager) and Caitlin Thompson (Kate's bestie, Madison).Of course the best part about This Is Us is arguably not knowing what era each of these new faces is from and how the characters fit in (or don't, based on that last image of the trailer), which the trailer itself underlines with the tagline: "If you think you know what's coming next, you don't know us." Looks like creator Dan Fogelman and the rest of the crew and cast have done it again. This Is Us returns to CTV on September 24 with a season premiere aptly-titled "Strangers."
